Interesting reading about Australia’s FTTN struggles

An interesting article by Rod Tucker on “Lifehacker Au” on July 13th 2017 argues in general that we are being duped by misleading statements and “facts” that don’t tell the whole story, as NBN Co tries to justify why they are using an inferior solution of FTTN (which is Fibre to the Node) rather than what was originally proposed solution of FTTP (Fibre to the Premises).

With all the problems some of our customers are having with the new system, we certainly will be hoping to stick with our more reliable old technology (at least until we are dragged, kicking and screaming into having to join NBN).

That is not to say all areas are having a bad run (from what we can tell). Locally in the Southern Goyder area has a new fixed wireless network,  which haven’t heard one complaint about yet. Unfortunately Fixed Wireless can’t cover everyone, and other technologies are being used such as 3/4G and Satellite.

PS. If you read the article to the end you will see that Ron is well experienced to make such comments.
